In recent years, as the drawbacks of offshore outsourcing to the other side of the world have come to the fore, the concept of “nearshore” outsourcing more popular than ever. “Nearshore” outsourcing is the practice sending a service – contact center, back-office or IT – to a foreign nation located nearby, saving money but eliminating a lot of the problems inherent in far offshore outsourcing.
While in North America, nearshore outsourcing often means the Caribbean or Central America, in Western Europe, it generally means Eastern Europe. In fact, IT nearshoring has been becoming more and more popular in EU countries for several years. For European IT services, it often means Poland.
